Deepening Trust
If a team is a tree, trust is its root system. This is true for any team, anywhere. And we all know the fate of a tree when its root system deteriorates beneath the surface. A trust deficit makes effective teamwork impossible to attain or sustain. And I don't just mean trust in fellow team members and leader(s), though this is critical. In order for me to trust you, I must first trust myself. This is why I weave these two threads of trust through every custom team experience I design: -Trust in Self (developing the confidence to hear and act on one's own inner wisdom)... and... -Trust in One Another (developing an understanding of, and confidence in, one another's intentions and capabilities). Building into these facets of trust in self and trust in teammates is critical if we want to move forward together.
Developing Your Team and Increasing Your Impact
Here's where we get practical. All teams struggle with some aspect of forward movement. Whether it's agreeing on what goals to set for a given time period, or aligning around precise action steps to take toward achieving them, the more people (opinions, experiences, goals, methods) you add to that dynamic, the more conflict and misunderstanding will occur. In a team context, more assertive voices tend to make themselves heard often, while quieter (though just as wise and important) voices rarely bring ideas to the table for consideration. Team dynamics are intense and complex. These and other factors cause teams to become demoralized, turnover rates to grow, conflicts to become toxic, and trust within a team - or toward a leader - to quickly erode. All of which, of course, undermines the outworking of any organization's values, purpose, and impact. This is where I come in, not as an expert who tells you how to solve your problems, but as a guide who gently sets up a framework of belonging within which every voice is heard and all ideas are given fair consideration. On a practical level, your team has an opportunity to establish directional clarity and make significant, measurable progress toward your organizational goals in an incredibly short amount of time.
How Does It Work?
We do this in a series of simple steps: 1. You schedule a complimentary consult call with me, during which I become acquainted with your team's needs, strengths, and goals. 2. I design a workshop or retreat that meets your team's needs. 3. Together, we synergize and channel your team's collective expertise into clear action steps that translate into dynamic, meaningful progress.
What Can We Accomplish?
The following are examples of needs I can help your team address: -I can help your team get clear on - and diffuse conflict around - specific goals to prioritize. -With goals set, I can guide your team to determine and delegate measurable action steps and timelines. -I can guide your team in thinking through exactly how to improve specific processes and services. -We work together to move your team toward deepened trust in one another, and toward you as their leader, by learning to hear one another more deeply. -I can design experiences that leave your team members feeling uniquely seen, valued, and connected. All of these possibilities are ultimately implemented with the heart to increase your team members' buy-in and sense of thriving together as a team.
Time Frames and Formats
The prospects are nearly endless, but here are a few possibilities: - STAFF MEETING OPTION: I come in and run a series of 3-4 of your weekly staff meetings. - ONE-HALF DAY ON-SITE (3-1/2 hours including breaks): This abbreviated workshop takes place on site in your office space. - FULL DAY ON-SITE (7 hours, including breaks) : It's pretty amazing how much we can accomplish in one day together. - HALF DAY AND FULL DAY ON-SITE WORKSHOPS are also available in consecutive 2- or 3-day options, or in a once-a-week (for 2-4 weeks) series. - FULL DAY OFF-SITE "RETREAT": Same time frame as the on-site day above (adding in travel time) with option of similar objectives or a more appreciation- and connection- focused day. No overnight. - OFF-SITE ONE OR TWO NIGHT RETREAT: More time to breathe, more time for connection and serious productivity. -Nearly anything else you can imagine. Let's chat.
